Energy Performance Contracts for operational buildings

Energy Performance Contracts for operational buildings

Office space and other operational buildings are big consumers of energy. Buildings are often poorly insulated, boilers out of date, temperature sensors inadequate or lighting old fashioned.

Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs) are a key means of getting investment into these buildings to achieve dramatic improvements in performance.

By re-fitting a building, energy consumption and thus energy bills fall significantly. A third party company will often provide the investment, in the knowledge that their returns are significant and predictable, based in energy bill savings.

LCTF is working with a range of its members to establish whether a combined package of work could secure major third party funders to secure a step change in the energy efficiency of the City’s building stock.
